Southbourne Secrets … coming soon!

Join Hattie Miles for a Southbourne  walk that will tell you about some of the area’s development, famous residents and hidden secrets. The walk will start and finish outside Costa Coffee in Southbourne Grove.  It will take us to the cliff top and down to the beach and aims to tell you a few things about the area that you may not know. Dates will be posted very soon.

Price £6 (over sixties £5) … no need to book, just turn up.

Be prepared: this is a moderate walk and includes some slopes and a few steps. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and dressing appropriately for the weather. There is plenty of on street parking in Southbourne but you will need to park away from the centre to avoid time restrictions. If you travel by bus Southbourne is well served including 1, 1a and M2 services. We pass several public loos on route and can use facilities at Costa Coffee before and after the walk. The walk will last approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.

“Bournemouth: Crime and the Underworld” is a guided walk with Hattie Miles that will tell you about historic crimes relating to the town. There are links to notorious murders, enterprising conmen, the Great Train Robbery and even the infamous Kray Brother’s gang.

Price £6 (£5 over sixties & students) … no need to book, just turn up!

Be prepared: this is a moderate walk and includes some slopes and steps with a good rail. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and dressing appropriately for the weather. The walk will last approximately 90 minutes. In this warm weather I recommend that you bring a bottle of water to drink. I suggest travelling to Bournemouth on the bus as town centre parking is expensive, but if you do decide to come by car there is pay parking available around the town including a carpark at the Pavilion itself. There are several cafés close to our starting point if you want refreshments before the walk … we will end at the Pavilion where the Terrace Café is a good stopping point overlooking Bournemouth’s historic gardens.
