Bournemouth: Crime & the Underworld (Tuesday morning 26th June)

Photographs from this walk are on the Walkingtalks Facebook page …

“Bournemouth: Crime and the Underworld” is a guided walk with Hattie Miles that will tell you about historic crimes relating to the town. Many come to Bournemouth for a taste of the peaceful life but there is a darker side. There are links to notorious murders, enterprising conmen, the Great Train Robbery and even the infamous Kray Brother’s gang.

Walk date: Tuesday morning 26th June starting at 11am from the Pavilion Theatre steps on Westover Road, BH1 2BU.

Price £6 (£5 over sixties & students) … no need to book, just turn up!

Be prepared: this is a moderate walk and includes some slopes and steps with a good rail. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and dressing appropriately for the weather. The walk will last approximately 90 minutes. In this warm weather I recommend that you bring a bottle of water to drink. I suggest travelling to Bournemouth on the bus as town centre parking is expensive, but if you do decide to come by car there is pay parking available around the town including a carpark at the Pavilion itself. There are several cafés close to our starting point if you want refreshments before the walk … we will end at the Pavilion where the Terrace Café is a good stopping point overlooking Bournemouth’s historic gardens.
