History & Horrors: a Boscombe Journey (1st & 4th May)

Photographs from these walks can be found on the walkingtalks Facebook page.

‘History & Horrors: a Boscombe Journey’ is a free guided walk with Hattie Miles. We’ll explore central Boscombe to discover some of its past and hidden secrets. It will also tell you about stories and characters created by famous authors with local connections including Mary Shelley and Frankenstein, Bram Stoker and Dracula and, of course, there’ll be a nod to Dr Who when we visit the Boscombe Tardis.

Tuesday 1st May and Friday 4th May, both starting at 11am.  Meet outside Lidl inside the Sovereign Centre ready for an 11am start. No need to book, just turn up!

This free walk is supported by Coastal BID and the Sovereign Shopping Centre. It will last approximately 75 minutes.

Be prepared: the route is mainly flat and is within the precinct, Sovereign Centre and Royal Arcade. I would recommend wearing flat, comfortable footwear and dressing appropriately for the weather. There are good bus services to Boscombe Centre, plenty of pay carparks nearby and some on street parking a short walk away. There are good loos in the Sovereign Centre and lots of cafés nearby. NB: This walk is not suitable for dogs as Sovereign Centre has a no dogs policy.
