‘A Victorian Christmas’ in Westbourne

Get festive on ‘A Victorian Christmas’ guided walk in Westbourne with Hattie Miles. Come along and you will learn that Westbourne’s expansion has many parallels with the development of our traditional Christmas celebrations. You’ll find out about crackers, carols, cards and more. Trees, tinsel and turkey will all feature as well as Christmassy readings from the Victorian era.

Wednesdays 6th and 13th December, both starting at 11am from outside The Vintage Lounge Café in the centre of Westbourne arcade, BH4 9AY

Price £5  … no need to book, just turn up!

After the walk there are various good cafés and restaurants for refreshments

Be prepared: please dress appropriately for the weather and I always recommend that you wear comfortable shoes. Walks will last about about an-hour-and-a-quarter. We finish in plenty of time for lunch and Christmas shopping. There are a number of pay car parks around Westbourne and good bus services to Westbourne. There is also on-street parking nearby.

HenryColeChristmasCardThe first commercial Christmas card, above, was designed by Henry Cole in 1843
